MY HOOD, MY CITY works with Long Beach young people, ages 14-24, and communities of color living in North, West, and Central Long Beach. These neighborhoods have been historically divested and have experienced the disproportionate impacts of violence, poverty, and COVID-19.

In celebration of National Community Planning month, I walked with a group of inspired youth for a tour of their neighborhood in North in Long Beach. They lead with stories of what constitutes their physical environment and what is important to them and their community!
